John Billingsley has been a prolific character actor working across stage and screen for over three decades. In film, he is perhaps best known for his Lead role in OUT OF TIME (starring opposite Denzell Washington), and in television his breakout role came as a Series Regular in STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE.

Next up, John recurs in Paramount+’s upcoming limited series JONBENÉT, which explores the tragic unsolved murder of JonBenét Ramsey; John stars alongside Melissa McCarthy, Clive Owen and Shea Whigham. He is also set to recur in Ryan Murphy’s FX horror drama series GROTESQUERIE.

John recently recurred in Apple TV+’s limited series MANHUNT, based on the aftermath of the Lincoln assassination and best-selling book by James Swanson. And in film, John appeared opposite Elizabeth Banks in SKINCARE from director Austin Peters, and opposite Aubrey Plaza in EMILY THE CRIMINAL from director John Patton Ford.

A graduate from Bennington College in 1982, John spent fifteen years pursuing a stage career, most notably in and around Seattle, WA. In 1990, John founded a Seattle based theatre company called Book-It, which was devoted to adapting fiction for the stage and which still flourishes in the Pacific Northwest. John also helped found an acting studio in Seattle called Freehold, where he taught for seven years.

John has been a Los Angeles resident since 1995. He is a voracious reader, and he is blissfully married to the accomplished actress, Bonita Friedericy, who has appeared on stage and on screen with him on multiple occasions.
