Jerrika Hinton starred for two seasons in Amazon’s hit series HUNTERS opposite Al Pacino and Logan Lerman. The series takes place in the late 1970s New York City, following a diverse band of Nazi hunters who discover that hundreds of high-ranking Nazi officials are living among us and conspiring to create a Fourth Reich in the U.S. Hinton plays Millie Malone, a dynamic and gutsy FBI Agent who battles the Bureaus old boy hierarchy and ultimately leads the Hunters in their search for a still-living Adolf Hitler.
Hinton’s upcoming projects include a role alongside Jeff Daniels & Diane Lane in Netflix’s limited series A MAN IN FULL, from David E Kelley & Regina King, based on Tom Wolfe’s 1998 novel. She will also appear opposite John David Washington in Netflix’s feature adaptation of August Wilson’s play THE PIANO LESSON.
Hinton previously had a pivotal recurring role in Apple TV+’s psychological thriller series SERVANT from producer & director M. Night Shyamalan. She starred in Alan Ball’s HBO drama HERE AND NOW opposite Holly Hunter and Tim Robbins. Prior to which, she was known for her work in ABC’s award-winning medical drama GREY’S ANATOMY where she starred as the headstrong and highly intelligent “Dr. Stephanie Edwards”, who quickly became a fan-favorite.
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Hinton has been performing since the age of three. She landed her first professional role at the age of eleven in a theatrical production of ROLL OF THUNDER, HEAR MY CRY. Hinton went on to attend Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas where she studied directing and playwriting at the Meadows School of the Arts.
While working behind the camera has always been one of Hinton’s passions, fulfilling her love of bringing characters to life on screen has been of equal importance. Over the last few years, she has held roles on top television series such as ABC’s SCANDAL, FOX’s BONES and LIE TO ME, and the short lived yet critically acclaimed series TERRIERS for FX.
When not working in film or television, Hinton has maintained her commitment to both creativity and community service by teaching at numerous theaters, serving as an artist-in-residence at the East LA Classic Theatre, and volunteering with The Actors Fund. She has been a longtime supporter of The Innocence Project.
